Information You Send
Search terms
A name, location, or other term entered into a search widget is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Canyon County Busted Mugshots does not intentionally store or log those search terms on its own server.
Messages and requests
If you send an email or contact-form message, the information in that message is kept as needed to read it, respond, and maintain the correspondence. It is not shared outside the operating organization unless disclosure is legally required or needed to protect the service.
Technical Data and Cookies
Normal page delivery can create technical logs or analytics records. Depending on the hosting, analytics, and advertising setup, those records may include:
- IP address or a shortened form of it.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages visited and the time spent on them.
- The referring page, when a referral is supplied.
- Request timestamps and basic error information.
Cookie controls
Cookies or similar storage may help measure page use, retain a preference, or support advertising and partner tools. Browser settings can block or clear them. Some features may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
Information may be used to keep the reference pages available, understand which material is useful, and support the tools connected to them.

- Send a search request to the provider that supplies the search box.

- Find errors, abuse, and technical faults.

Government and Outside Links
Pages link to the Canyon County sheriff, jail roster, current arrests, court, IDOC, BOP, ICE, city police, and news services. For example, the Sheriff's page, the Current Arrests page, and the IDOC search are separate services. Once a visitor follows a link, that provider's privacy notice and terms apply.
Some advertising or search partners may track activity across different sites for their own advertising systems. That tracking occurs on their systems, not under the control of this reference service.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold by the operator as a standalone mailing list. It may still be available to the service providers needed to run the pages or to a government body acting under valid legal authority.
- Search partners that receive terms entered into their tool.
- Analytics providers that measure page use and performance.
- Advertising networks and their measurement partners.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security Limits
Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards are used for information handled by the service. No internet-connected system is perfectly secure, and no promise can be made that a breach, loss, or unauthorized access event is impossible.
Visitors Under 18
The pages are intended for adults. The operator does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent information, a parent or guardian may use Contact Us to request review and deletion of that submission.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the limits of the data held, a visitor may ask what personal information is kept and how it is used.
- Ask for a copy of personal information held by the operator.
- Point out inaccurate information and request a correction.
- Ask that information be deleted when there is no reason to retain it.
- Ask to opt out of a processing activity where an opt-out is available.
Requests should identify the message, page, or interaction involved without sending unnecessary sensitive details.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised when the service, partners, or legal requirements change. A new version will be posted here with a new effective date or other visible update. Continued use after an update means the revised notice applies to later activity.
